WHO WE ARE!
We are locally owned and operated.
We live in the community.
We know our residents by first name and we take seriously our commitment to their care.
Do we know what we are doing?
You bet!
Our mission: Serving you with a smile!
Our philosophy: You’re family!
OUR DIRECTOR: CAROLYN RICHARDSON
Oak Wood Place is fortunate to have one of the most respected Assisted Living Directors in the State of Texas.
Carolyn has over 30 years experience in the health care and retirement fields.
Carolyn is a "people" person with excellent administrative skills and credentials.
She has a proven track record and her management style emphasizes "service with a smile" when it comes to assisting residents at Oak Wood Place.
OUR RESIDENT MEDICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR: HEATHER BENNETT, RN
At Oak Wood Place we feel it is very important to have our own full time Nurse.
Most assisted living properties do not have a Nurse on a full time basis.
From experience, we know we deliver better resident health care with a full time nurse like Heather Bennett.
She has several years of experience in the health care field in both the hospital and nursing home setting.
She will be evaluating and assisting residents with their medical needs, prescriptions, and doctor visits.
OUR OWNERS
Our owner and his family have been in the health care field for over 35 years as a Pharmacist operating their own independent pharmacy.
They spent over 6 years in the research and development of the plans for building Oak Wood Place Assisted Living.
It took 2 years to just locate the beautiful and serene 46-acre campus that is covered in native oak trees.
The concept of a large assisted living property that would accept Medicaid as well as private residents is unusual in the industry.
AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE NURSING HOME
This new concept provides for an alternative to nursing homes.
At Oak Wood Place we offer our apartments and all-inclusive services for a very low monthly fee for $2,099.
And for those who qualify, we even accept Medicaid.
As a result, some of the people on Medicaid and living in nursing homes or at home, but who are ambulatory and do not need a lot of direct nursing care, may qualify for assisted living at Oak Wood Place.
