Resident Medical Services

At Oak Wood Place, our nurse is available 5 days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM and after hours for emergencies, 24/7. It is her responsibility to know each resident’s medical history and current health or health issues. The nurse coordinates with the physicians and their assistants to deliver to each resident the best medical care available . . . . even better than at home, after all none of us have our own nurse at home!

Our nurse is aware of any changing health conditions and reports those changes and needs to the physicians. She works hand in hand with the resident’s visiting nurse service to verify any treatments or rehabs are being handled properly.

Our staff at Oak Wood Place is trained to recognize changes in health conditions such as loss of appetite, weight gain or loss, and any psychological changes in their personalities.
