Who Helps Me With My Medications?

Every resident has a storage bin in the med room for their medications. When the physician orders a medication, the medications are listed on an individual med sheet. On this sheet (chart) our med aides know when each prescription is to be given and then documents on the med sheet (chart) each dose of the medicine.

We assist the residents by reminding them when to take meds and verify that each dose is taken. Most residents come to the med room but if they do not remember the times to take a med, we ask an attendant to help them come up to the med room for their dose. If they are ill or do not feel well, we will take the dose to them.

We do not just hand them a med. We prepare the med and assist them in taking the med in our presence so we know it has been completed properly.

Our pharmacies make daily deliveries and are available 24/7 for emergencies.
